Instructions and recommendations to record your presentation

Before you begin, please have your PowerPoint (or similar) presentation open and ready:

  • Download the E-CONGRESS application for Windows or MacOS.
  • Once in the application, select the congress: 69th WDA-14th EWDA Joint Virtual Conference and click "Next".
  • Access with your personal user and password (those you selected to create an account to the congress website).
  • A list of the presentations in which you are an author will appear on the screen. Select the one you want to record and click “Next”.
  • Choose the recording format “SCREEN + VIDEO”. Set up the camera and microphone by following the steps indicated and press "Next". If you wish, you can move the camera image by clicking and dragging it to another location. (This will be the way the recording will be seen in the conference).
  • Your presentation and image will appear on the screen. Under your image you will have a time bar that indicates the duration of your presentation. It will start discounting at the start of recording and will turn yellow to inform that you have 1 minute left. Being an invited speaker, you have been allocated 30-35’ for your presentation and 10-15’ additional minutes for questions. Please, adhere to the times set for your intervention as closely as possible.
  • Press "START RECORDING" to proceed. Once the recording is made, you can review it by clicking on “PREVIEW”. If you are satisfied with the result, click on "UPLOAD", or if, on the contrary, you want to record it again, click on "NEW".

To ensure good quality when recording, we recommend:

  • Select as far as possible a quiet location without external noises or sounds.
  • Ensure that you have a frontal light source (natural or artificial), avoiding backlighting. The objective is that the face is sufficiently illuminated.
  • Try to keep the webcam at eye level and centered on the screen (if possible)
  • Select a clear background (white back, light colored, smooth, etc.)
  • Using a microphone close to the mouth (for example, “hands-free mobile” headphones, video conferencing headphones, external tabletop microphone, etc.)
  • Open on your device only the applications necessary for the presentation (PowerPoint or similar)
  • Disconnect the warnings and notifications from the computer in use.
  • Mute all electronic devices on your surroundings such as: mobiles, tablets, radios, etc.
  • Try to make sure that you have a stable internet connection to ensure the correct upload of the final file.
  • If you are going to record your presentation from a laptop, make sure you have the power supply connected to avoid running out of battery
